Personally I have an interest in all the performance Renaults (you may have all noticed!!) especially the ones with an 'Alpine' connection.

The current group buy on v6Clio may well raise awareness of this site and club, at least to the extent that we are cleary committed to developing spares and upgrades.

The only reason that the Clio V6 rear kit was developed so quickly is that is a modied A610/Spider item so the cars are related to some certain extent.

With so few UK Alpines remaining it makes no sense to close doors to close cousins!

Also if you guys (Martin & Wayne) post up a few pics / developments / news regarding your own cars, that might also generate some interest.

BTW steveatyork's daughter's vee gets a mention in Performance French Car this month.

Didn't even occur to me that anything said might be offensive. The Clio's are just cars number 12 and 13 (or whatever it is now!!!) in the chronological order of the time the cars were bought, nothing to do with how good they are in the general scheme of things.

Clee's always calling my car a fat lump of lard, just cause it has a heater in it so you can actually use it when its cold outside eh Lee!

As for the Clio's, well I have a 182 on the drive (my Brother's car - he hankers after the Vee) and I think it's a decent motor. Definately wouldn't say no to a V6 and can confirm it's not exactly slow as I was following a certain silver one down the M54 a week or two back and it was pretty feisty.

Overall, like the Alpine's, The Clio V6 is a car with a tremendous character that is so lacking in the crap that is being produced by most car manufacturers these days. That's progress for you.

Maybe silver ones are faster :D When i had the Blue Mk2 Aimy's Silver Mk1 could stay with it no prob, Funny thing is i couldnt get on with my Mk2 at all :( Dont really know why, But Aimys Mk1 is fine any excuse and i am in it. "Nice cars" maybe just lacking a extra 50 BHP or so, Think i could then put up with the widow maker name they seem to have  .
But they do have "tremendous character" and look the dogs ------

nice theory.... but more realistic.... the phase 1 car was making correct power... around 230 bhp and the phase 2 was under powered as you must know that Renaults are renown for not making their advertised power figures.....

True, Plus i found the Mk1 was much more nimble which goes against the grain when looking at tests, i think you can deffo feel the weight difference with the two when driving them, Just my 2 pence worth :)

phase 1 has an engine which will make good power when na tuned .... like 340 bhp on itb s , whereas the phase 2 no good at all we know a guy who tried all sorts of mods on one and it still wouldn't make over 250bhp even with a custom built inlet manifold and exhaust....

Also that figure's based on paid up members. If you extrapolate based on the same ratio, could be 100+ including voyeurs.
